Imagine, if you will, a frog sitting by a pond...pondering. Pondering about what? Well, I think it most logical to say that he is pondering about the pond. The reasons for justifying this will be outlined in Volume 3, page 11, in the footnotes, which refer to Appendix A and various other sources.
